It's fitting that a heavy metal song provided the title to "Hot and heavy," a sponsored case study in our November 2019 issue. The case study focuses on lift trucks used to carry thousands of pounds of hot aluminum at Madison-Kipp Corp. The song by the band Pantera comes from their 1985 album I Am the Night. Reader Steven Davies noticed the similarity and is the winner of this month's contest.
There were several other song titles mentioned in the November issue:
- "Yakety Yak" is both the title of an item on the Port of Oakland's LiveChat service and a song by The Coasters.
- "On Top of Old Smokey" was a Top 10 Billboard hit for actor/singer Burl Ives in 1951 and the title of a story about Ontario motorists driving while high.
- "Return to Sender" is an Elvis Presley tune. It's also the name of an article about the U.S. Postal Service cracking down on violators of its collection-box policy.
- "Catch a Wave" was sung by The Beach Boys and was also a story about Florida ports preparing for rising sea levels.
